Who we support

We form supportive partnerships with small, fledgling organisations working in Sussex.

Funding is awarded for charitable purposes only. We support the following types of charitable and not-for-profit organisations:

  • UK registered charities

  • Community Interest Companies (CIC)

  • Social enterprises operating on a not-for-profit distributing basis

Organisations new to the Pearce Foundation need to have been operating for two years or less, with an income of less than £50,000 a year.

Our grants

We provide strategic funding to ensure our Partners have the right resources, systems and equipment in place to operate effectively.

Our three-stage grant making model aims to encourage responsible and sustainable growth by providing timely support to organisations looking to take the next step in their development.

Stage 1 (Best Practice)

Grants of between £500 - £2,000 are awarded to new Partner organisations of the Pearce Foundation.

Stage 2 (Scaling up)

Existing Partners can apply for a further grant of up to £2,000, at least two years after their initial grant when they are ready to take that next step of growth or development.

Stage 3 (Sustaining)

On-going or additional financial support is considered on a case-by-case basis for Partners looking to further develop their capacity and impact.

Our aim is not only to support organisations while they partner with us, but to help them build the confidence, clarity and capacity to move forward independently.

We remain connected with many of our Partners beyond our grant-making stages, offering light-touch support, peer connection and opportunities to contribute their experience to others.
