Who we support

We form supportive partnerships with small, fledgling organisations working exclusively in Sussex.

We support the following types of charitable and not-for-profit organisations:

  • UK registered charities

  • Community Interest Companies (CIC)

  • Social enterprises operating on a not-for-profit distributing basis

Organisations new to the Pearce Foundation need to have been operating for two years or less, with an income of less than £50,000 a year. Funding is awarded for charitable purposes only.

What we’re looking for in an organisation

  • Those ready to take the next step of growth & invest in themselves.

  • Align with our values & ethos.

  • Create time to work ‘on’ their organisation and not just ‘in’ it.

  • Open to a coaching approach & personal development opportunities.

  • Commit to our partnership period which runs annually from mid-February to the end of October.

Our grants

Our three-stage grant-making model combines grants of up to £2,000 with tailored support, helping Partners at different points in their journey, from building strong foundations to growing and sustaining their organisation.

Our aim is not only to support organisations while they partner with us, but to help them build the confidence, clarity and capacity to move forward independently.

Stage 1 Foundations

For new Partners, providing funding and support to strengthen the foundations they need for the future.

Stage 2 Growth

For existing Partners ready to take their next step, with further funding and tailored support available at least two years after their initial grant.

Stage 3 Sustainability

Ongoing or additional support, considered on a case-by-case basis, to help established Partners sustain what they have built and continue developing.

Our approach

Our ‘more than money’ model of support is designed to strengthen
charity leaders, their organisations and the wider community.

Leadership

We really get to know our Partners: their strengths, priorities, hopes and fears, and create space to step back, reflect, gain perspective and work on, not just in, their organisation.

Organisations

We take time to understand each organisation: its strengths, challenges and priorities for the future. Together, we identify where support can make the greatest difference to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence.

Community

We bring Partners together for the benefit of the community: encouraging collaborative working with other organisations to share expertise, resources and expand the sector’s capacity for positive change.
