Our Impact Stories - Conversation with Charity Partners

Pass It On CIC is entirely volunteer-led, with an inspiring team giving over 200 hours every week to run the Community Fridge and Clothes Library in Hailsham, East Sussex. Their doors are open to everyone – no means testing, no barriers – while also preventing huge amounts of food from going to landfill.

Building Stability

A milestone moment for Pass It On during our partnership was securing National Lottery funding, facilitated by our fundraising skills suppor. The funding will cover the costs of their building for the next three years. This achievement has given them not only stability but also the confidence that comes from being recognised by a major national funder.

Growth Through Support

Through The Pearce Foundation’s grant and year-round mentoring, Pass It On has been able to:

  • Launch a new website and find clarity in their messaging.

  • Strengthen their boundaries and practices around self-care, ensuring volunteers remain resilient while supporting others.

  • Gain the security to dream bigger, grow sustainably and focus on what matters most – the community.

What makes the Pearce Foundation different?

I found it very enlightening and encouraging. It’s lovely to know that there’s always somebody there on the other end of the phone or email for a little bit of support or a chat.

You’ve supported us for the whole year, checking in, asking how we’re progressing – it’s not all about the money, it’s about the support.
I can honestly say that having the support for the year has changed how I manage our Community hub. We are all excited for what more we can achieve. Thank you so much.
It’s made me really consider my work-life balance and take more time for myself – which in turn makes me more effective in the business.
